On Thursday, 7 April 2011 I will take off from Oakland International Airport, California with long standing ferry pilot Jim Hazelton in an attempt to fly around the world in the record-breaking footsteps of pioneer aviators such as: Ross Macpherson Smith, Bert Hinkler, C.W.A Scott and Charles Kingsford-Smith.

As part of my flight from the US to Australia I am aiming to raise AUD$700,000 to help RFDS South-Eastern Section buy seven flight data recorders for their lifesaving aircraft.
