Living with Parkinson’s presents physical, mental, emotional and financial challenges and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a further impact on our vulnerable community.

For many people, just like John – who was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s when he was 50 years old – this pandemic has presented new challenges.

They feel less able to connect to family and friends, less able to engage in support programs such as exercise, art and music or peer support group meetings.

Many people we help have shared that they are feeling greater stiffness and pain from no longer being able to attend their exercise classes, increased anxiety to attend regular medical and allied health appointments, or even go for a quick trip to the shops.

You can help people living with Parkinson’s continue to access vital support, information and individualised care that helps them manage their condition.

We’re doing everything we can to support people with Parkinson’s, transitioning our face-to-face services to be provided by Telehealth, phone and online.

Give now and help us continue to support every person diagnosed with Parkinson’s, by:

1.   Expanding our outreach program so we can identify those who are struggling or could benefit from more support now.

We can connect people with Parkinson’s to healthcare professionals, develop a new management plan for them so they regain their daily routine. With your help, we can provide individualised support so people can better manage their Parkinson’s.

2.   Innovating our Telehealth, phone support and information, online education and peer support offering.

Providing information, advice and guidance from our team using technology will help them and their carers continue to manage and live well with Parkinson’s. With your help, we can deliver programs and services so people living with Parkinson’s have access to the support they need now and into the future.

We will continue to innovate so they receive the support and care they need now and in the months ahead.

Parkinson's Victoria

Parkinson’s Victoria raises awareness and funds for services and research to improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s across the state.

Every day, through our multidisciplinary health team we provide information, education, advice and peer support to people living with Parkinson’s, their families and healthcare professionals.

We rely heavily on generous donations from our community to continue to deliver and grow our support services.

“This is a team effort: My wife and daughter, my GP and neurologist, the movement clinic and the fantastic staff at Parkinson’s Victoria. They watch over me, wrap their arms around me and make sure I’m living well with Parkinson’s.”

John, diagnosed with Parkinson’s aged 50
