How do I find the charity or cause I’m looking for? TOP

We’ve developed three alternatives to help you find the right charity, whether it is for shopping, donations or creating a Hero Page.

Alphabetical – simply select the letter of the charity and we’ll give you a list of all of our partners in alphabetical order starting with the selected letter
By category – If you’re not sure of the name or are looking at different charities or causes to support, why not select a category. For example, selecting ‘Children’ will bring up all of the charities which support kids.
By name – if you know the exact name of your preferred charity simply type it in and we’ll provide you with details directly. Remember to use correct punctuation and spelling to enable us to identify your charity accurately.

What if my charity isn’t there? TOP

We’re doing our best to spread the word in the Not for Profit industry, but it’s going to take us a little time. If you’d like to support a charity we currently don’t have as a partner, let us know and we’ll contact them straight away. In the meantime you can choose another worthy cause or we’ll let you know when the partner is on board.

How does Everyday Hero get paid?

We take a small 6.5% administration fee from the gross donation made to your charity. We also pass on a credit card processing fee of 1.1% of the gross donation plus 30 cents per transaction.

Following a 3 month free introductory period, we charge partner charities a monthly hosting fee of $30 plus GST.

What is the process ensuring all funds donated go to my charity? TOP

All charities will be provided with the ability to reconcile all deposits with reports detailing all donations made. Charities can access this information through a password protected account to manage reports and file downloads.

All money is initially deposited into Everyday Hero’s agency account which is fully audited by Carthills Chartered Accountants.

CREATING A HERO PAGE TOP

How do I create a Hero Page TOP

Register

Fill in our simple registration form. Remember to tell us whether you are fundraising by yourself or if you are registering as an individual, team or company.

What is an individual?

An individual is someone who is creating a fundraising Hero Page on their own for a charity or cause.

What is a group or team?

This is where a group of more than two individuals get together to raise money and create one Hero Page that represents the whole group. The site will need a team or group leader to create the page on their behalf. A team can represent a family, friends or a school for example.

What is a corporate or company team?

This is where a group of employees representing a company, create a Hero Page to raise funds for a charity or cause.

Choose a charity/cause

Raise money for your favourite cause or if you don’t have one, choose from one of our partner charities.

Choose an event

Tell us if you are participating in a special event, raising money for someone special or turning 50 and would rather money go to charity than buying you presents.

Upload an image or video

Choose an image from our image library which best suits you or your cause or you can upload your own photos or even load a video clip through YouTube. Instructions are there in a pop-up window if you need more help.

Writing your personal message/email

You can personalise an email message to your friends, family and colleagues. You can create an email telling them about your fundraising efforts and you can send as many emails as you like. To avoid spam we recommend you send five emails at a time.

How can I support a friends Hero Page? TOP

If you receive an email from a friend about their Hero Page, you can use the hyperlink contained in it to take you directly to their personal Hero Page. Alternatively, search for your friend's name on our home page and follow the steps to donate. Don’t forget to leave a message of support or inspiration for your Hero when you donate. It means a lot.

Can I Donate direct to a charity or cause? TOP

Yes. Search for your preferred charity. When you find the one you want, click on the VIEW button and a charity profilewill appear. If the charity has a DONATE NOW button simply click on it and follow the steps to donate using your credit card.

What do you do with the money I’ve donated? TOP

Everyday Hero has a secure, fast, real time payment processing service. That means your payment is processed immediately and all funds less fees are deposited into charity accounts on a fortnightly basis.

Can I cancel my Hero Page? TOP

Yes. If you wish to cancel your Hero Page contact us immediately by clicking on the contact us link below and your page will be taken down as soon as possible. If you already have received donations on your page, unfortunately these cannot normally be refunded. All donations made to your fundraising page are collected immediately and paid promptly to the charity. contact us

However, some charities may be willing to refund donations when a participant pulls out of an event. Please contact your charity first. We will need the charity's written authorisation in order to carry out any refunds.

Can I collect donations offline, such as by knocking on doors in my street? TOP

Everyday Hero can only authorise you to collect donations online through your Hero Page and by using our email facilities. If you wish to conduct other fundraising activities for your favourite charity or cause, contact the organisation directly.

How old do you have to be? TOP

There is no age limit for fundraising in Australia through Everyday Hero, except in New South Wales where law requires that you are at least 8 years old. However, it is a condition of use of our website that persons under the age of 16 obtain the written permission of their parent or guardian before fundraising through Everyday Hero. You can obtain a Parental Consent Form by clicking here . There are also certain conditions required by law on the supervision of persons under the age of 16, and these are outlined in our Everyday Hero Terms and Conditions of Website Usage. For fundraising outside of Australia, please consult your local regulations.

Can I create more than one Hero Page at a time?

You can create more than one Hero Page at a time, for as many charities or causes as you wish. If you are under the age of 16, you must obtain your parent or guardian's written permission each time you create a Hero Page for a different charity or cause.

How can I shop? TOP

First you need to join Everyday Hero and login. Then by linking through to our merchant partner websites from our shopping section and purchasing goods or services, joining up or simply clicking a button to name a few, you’ll be raising funds for charity.

Why should I join EDH first? TOP

When you join Everyday Hero we ask you to select your preferred charity or cause. In this way when you do go and shop from our site we’ll ensure the benefits from that transaction go directly to your charity of choice. You can also keep track of how much money from your everyday actions you are raising.

Does something from every transaction go to charity? TOP

Yes. We commit to passing on 100% of the advertised offer to your selected charity or cause.

MANAGING YOUR ACCOUNT

Account Overview TOP

All of the information you need to know about your Everyday Hero account can be found in the My Hero Account section. These include your past and current Hero Pages, donations raised and received and shopping donations generated. Simply login using the Login/Hero Name and password you created when joining Everyday Hero.

Editing your account details TOP

You can edit your Hero Page at any time while it is live, or create a new one. You can update your blog, upload a new image, or a video through You Tube. Just follow the simple steps. You can also check your donations against your Hero Page target and donations generated through Everyday Hero shopping. Your personal details such as a change of address or phone number relating to your Hero Page can also be updated at any time.

To ensure optimum performance of our site we can only allow you to upload an image up to a file size of 3000k or 3 Megabytes.

Forgot password TOP

If you forget your password click on the My Hero Account tab and then on the Forgot Password link. Then input the email address used when you first joined Everyday Hero and you'll receive an email automatically. Click on the link provided and follow the steps to reset your password.

What forms of payment do you we accept? TOP

We accept online payments using the following credit cards: VISA, MASTERCARD. We plan to have a facility to accept AMERICAN EXPRESS and DINERS CLUB over the next couple of months. Credit card purchases will be displayed as Everyday Hero on your credit card statement. We also accept PayPal.

Everyday Hero uses the latest industry encryption technology to protect your credit card details during an online transaction. Your credit card will be charged straight away when you donate.

Can I Donate direct to a charity or cause? TOP

Yes. Search for your preferred charity at www.everydayhero.com.au When you find it, click on the VIEW button and a charity profile will appear. If the charity has a DONATE NOW button simply click on it and follow the steps to donate using your credit card or paypal.

What do you do with the money I've donated? TOP

Everyday Hero has a secure, fast, real time payment processing service. That means your payment is processed immediately and all funds less fees are deposited into charity accounts every 14 days.

Yes, it is extremely safe.

When transacting via our secure server, your credit card and personal details are encrypted using the latest industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128 Bit encryption technology before being sent over the internet. Your credit card number is removed from our on-line server and is stored on a separate secure server.
