Rotarian Bob Montgomery is a legend. Cyclist, entrepreneur and tireless charity worker. Although in his 70’s he has already completed two charity rides, both raising funds for MND. This time he is setting off from Darwin to Perth (over 4,000kms) raising money for both Motor Neurone Disease and Huntington's Disease.

The itinerary is still being finalised. We will start on Sunday 14 May , and plan to finish in Perth in late June.

Purpose

The ride is a fundraiser supported by the Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains to raise funds for two dehabilitating neurological diseases Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Huntington's Disease (HD).  All funds raised will be donated to Motor Neurone Disease (NSW) and Huntington's (NSW) on a 50/50 basis.

Huntington’s NSW & MNDNSW

Having completed 2 major cycle rides, raising money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Bob Montgomery, now in his 70's, is embarking on his next major challenge. Huntington's NSW as well as MNDNSW. Huntington's disease is a similar neurological disease, always fatal with no cure, and which causes extreme distress to both victims and their families. All monies raised will distributed equally to MND NSW and Huntingtons NSW. The May ride is the main event, there are several pre-events. The "Come Out Swinging" jazz concert in September was a resounding success, raising $12,000. The next event, appropriately also named "Come Out Swinging" is a corporate Golf Day at Blackheath Golf Club, NSW, in March 2017. Bob will then hit the road in May cycling from Darwin to Perth.
All funds will be distributed equally between Huntington's NSW and MND NSW.
