Make your page sparkle

Set your fundraising goal - create your story about your fundraising target and the difference it will make to medical research. Motivate yourself and inspire others!

Make your own donation - get started and lead by example. This also helps your supporters out as research shows the higher your first donation the more your supporters will donate!

Keep everyone updated - update your personal page regularly with your fundraising progress.

Ways to reach donors

Share the stories - follow QIMR Berghofer on Facebook and Twitter to easily share your story and ours, to update your supporters on your fundraising and the amazing research underway.

Spread the word - don’t be afraid to ask! People give to people. Your friends, family and colleagues want to support you, so make sure you ask them and give them the opportunity to.

Approach your local - ask your local businesses to get involved – is there a takeaway, hairdresser, sports centre you frequent who will get behind you?

Plan your event - once you’ve chosen what type of event you’d like to host, set a date, organise a venue and promote your event.

Say thank you - thank your supporters for getting behind your quest with a shout-out on social media and on your fundraising page – help them feel a part of your fundraising.

Repeat and remind - life gets busy, so follow up and remind your networks every few weeks about what you’re doing, and how they can help.
