14 Illawarra professionals have swapped their business suits for dancing shoes to shimmy and shuffle their way to stardom for the annual Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer.
Over the next few months, our new ‘Stars’ will work with a professional dance instructor to learn a dance routine and fundraise in an effort to raise funds for Cancer Council NSW. Our stars will take to the stage on June 3 at the WIN Entertainment Centre, performing their routines for a panel of esteemed judges.
The Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer is in its third year and will see our local stars shine on stage competing for Judge’s choice, People’s choice, Highest Fundraiser and Best Costume.
All funds raised with enable Cancer Council NSW to continue to provide the Illawarra with local cancer support services, to directly help those living with cancer in our Community. These services include the Cancer Information Centre at Wollongong Hospital, free transport to cancer treatment, in home help, access to financial, legal and emotional support as well as funding a number of prevention programs such as SunSound, Men’s 40 Plus and Nutrition workshops currently being rolled out in primary schools across the Illawarra.
Cancer Council NSW is a 96% community funded organisation, and is the only cancer charity which works across all aspects of all cancers, investing over $14 million each year into world class research projects.
So join us for a night on the red carpet to support our local heroes and together commit to beating cancer.

Cancer Council NSW
Cancer Council NSW believes that we can and will beat cancer. There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.
Together with our volunteers, supporters, stakeholders and staff, we are committed to reducing the impact on individuals and the community, and to lessening the burden for people affected by cancer.
We are the only organisation in Australia that works across every area of every cancer:
* conducting and funding world-class research that underpins our work across the cancer journey
* preventing cancer
* supporting people as they navigate the cancer journey
* advocating to ensure that governments take action on cancer.
